This week, the eighth-grade girls broke out this year’s G.O. theme, performed an original song and dance, and taught it to the rest of the school. Their theme, “Connect 4 Ever,” will feature a different game each month, serving as a springboard to working on each month’s midah. This months midah is vatranus, which means giving up something you want for the sake of a mitzvah. Mama Rachel, whose yahrzeit was last Shabbos, exemplified this midah. Students were given charts for documenting their acts of vatranus this month. Seventh and eighth graders got the ball rolling by being mevater their time to ready the JCC for the challah bake that took place there on Thursday night.
