5B Finishes a Parsha

The fifth-grade boys celebrated another milestone as we completed our first parsha in chumash b'iyun. Parshas Bo is chock full of information, which includes the final three makkos, the first mitzvah given to Bnei Yisroel as a nation, Korban Pesach, tefillin, and more. The boys have heard the story many times, but were still fascinated by the details gleaned from learning the pasukim in depth.

We took our first 100-shorashim test of the year, the results of which were outstanding. Building a robust chumash vocabulary is vital to becoming an independent learner. Our goal is for students to be able to translate entire pasukim independent of a teacher’s assistance.

Now, we are onto parshas Beshalach and the next 100 shorashim.
