Dear Parents,

As many of you are already aware, Governor Doug Duceyand School Superintendent Kathy Hoffman announced today that they are closing all Arizona Schools, effective tomorrow, Monday March 16th through March 27th, in order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We understand that this school closure represents a major disruption to you and your children.

Torah Day School of Phoenix will be doing the following to minimize the disruption:

1.      Teachers are preparing packets of take-home work for Elementary and Middle School students. Once these packets are ready, we will ask parents to come and pick up a packet for each of their children. We will also email the packets home so parents can print it out if they can’t get to school.

2.      Tomorrow, March 16th, all staff will be in school for a training on how to conduct lessons online. We aim to have daily online school in place by early next week, but hopefully sooner. We will let you know as soon as we have more details.

3.       We will be offering limited day care tomorrow, March 16th, for families where both parents are working or need childcare for other reasons. Day-care will run from 9:00 AM-3:30 PM. Please be in touch with MorahCarol if you need to take advantage of this service. Please sign in when you drop your children off, and sign out when you pick them up.

You can expect follow up emails tomorrow and throughout the week as things develop.

May Hashem bring the COVID-19 virus to swift and complete end, keeping us all healthy and safe.

If you have any questions, feel free to call, email, or text.
